Is it better to have a manual or an electric nursing bed? Introduction to the functions of an electric nursing bed

News

1、 Is the nursing bed manual or electric
According to the classification of nursing beds, nursing beds can be divided into manual nursing beds and electric nursing beds. Regardless of which type of nursing bed is used, the purpose is to make it more convenient for nursing staff to take care of patients, so that patients can improve their mood in a comfortable environment as much as possible, which is beneficial to their physical health. So is it better to have a manual nursing bed or an electric one? What are the advantages and disadvantages of manual nursing beds and electric nursing beds?

Electric nursing bed
(1) Electric nursing bed
Advantages: Time and effort saving.
Disadvantages: Expensive, and electric nursing beds involve motors, controllers, and other items. If left at home without professional support, they are more likely to break down.

(2) Manual nursing bed
Advantage: Cheap and affordable.
Disadvantage: Not time-saving and labor-saving enough, patients cannot automatically adjust the position of the nursing bed, and it is necessary to have someone regularly nearby to help the patient care.
In summary, if the patient’s condition is severe, such as being able to stay in bed all the time and unable to move on their own, it is more appropriate to choose an electric nursing bed to alleviate the pressure of family care. If the patient’s condition is relatively better, their mind is clear and their hands are flexible, using manual methods is not very troublesome.
In fact, the nursing bed products on the market now have comprehensive functions. Even manual nursing beds have many practical functions, and there are even some nursing beds that can be adjusted into a chair shape, allowing patients to sit up on the nursing bed, making nursing more convenient.
When choosing a nursing bed, everyone should still consider the situation at home. If the family conditions are good and there are more requirements for the performance of the nursing bed, an electric nursing bed can be chosen. If the family conditions are average or the patient’s condition is not as severe, a manual nursing bed is sufficient.

2、 Introduction to the functions of electric nursing beds
(1) Lifting function
1. Synchronous lifting of the head and tail of the bed:
① The bed height can be adjusted freely within the range of 1-20cm according to the height of medical staff and clinical needs.
② Increase the space between the ground and the bottom of the bed to facilitate the insertion of the base of small X-ray machines, clinical examination and treatment instruments.
③ Facilitate maintenance personnel to inspect and maintain the product.
④ Convenient for nursing staff to handle dirt.
2. Back up and front down (i.e. bed head up and bed tail down) can be tilted freely within the range of 0 ° -11 °, making it convenient for clinical examination, treatment, and nursing of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular patients and related critically ill patients.
3. Front up and back down (i.e. bed end up and bed head down)
4. It can be tilted arbitrarily within the range of 0 ° -11 °, facilitating the examination, treatment, and care of postoperative patients and related critically ill patients (such as sputum aspiration, gastric lavage, etc.).
(2) Sitting and lying down function
Except for lying flat, the back panel of the bed can be raised and lowered freely within the range of 0 ° -80 °, and the leg board can be lowered and raised freely within the range of 0 ° -50 °. Patients can choose a suitable angle for sitting up in bed to meet their needs for eating, taking medication, drinking water, washing feet, reading books and newspapers, watching TV, and moderate physical exercise.
(3) Turning function
The three-point arc turning design allows patients to turn around freely within the range of 0 ° -30 °, preventing the formation of pressure ulcers. There are two types of flipping: timed flipping and flipping at any time as needed.
(4) Release function
The embedded toilet, mobile toilet cover, movable baffle at the front of the toilet, cold and hot water storage tank, cold water heating device, cold and hot water conveying device, built-in hot air fan, external hot air fan, cold and hot water gun and other components form a complete solution system.
Semi disabled patients (hemiplegia, paraplegia, old and weak, and patients who need to recover after surgery) can complete a series of actions with the help of nursing staff, such as relieving hands, flushing water, washing yin with hot water, and drying with hot air; It can also be operated by the patient with one hand and one click, automatically completing all the procedures for solving the problem; In addition, a dedicated fecal and fecal monitoring and alarm function has been designed, which can automatically monitor and handle the problem of bedwetting and urination for patients with total disability and unconsciousness. The nursing bed completely solves the problem of bedwetting and urination for patients.

Medical Bed

(5) Anti sliding function
With the function of lifting the back, while the back bed board rises from 0 ° to 30 °, the support board from the buttocks to the knee joint of the caregiver is lifted up by about 12 °, and remains unchanged while the back bed board continues to be lifted to prevent the body from sliding towards the tail of the bed.
(6) Back up anti slip function
As the sitting angle of the human body increases, the bed boards on both sides move inward in a semi enclosed form to prevent the caregiver from tilting to one side while sitting.
(7) No compression function for lifting the back
During the process of lifting the back, the back panel slides upwards, and this back panel is relatively stationary relative to the human back, which can truly achieve a sense of no pressure when lifting the back.
(8) Induction toilet
After the user drips 1 drop of urine (10 drops, depending on the user’s condition), the bedpan will open in about 9 seconds, and a warning will be issued to remind nursing staff of the user’s status, and hygiene will be cleaned.
(9) Auxiliary functions
Due to long-term bed rest and compression of muscles and blood vessels, disabled and semi disabled patients often have slower blood flow in their lower limbs. Frequent foot washing can effectively lengthen the blood vessels in the lower limbs, accelerate blood circulation, and is very helpful for restoring health. Regular shampooing can help patients relieve itching, promote blood circulation, maintain cleanliness, and maintain a happy mood, enhancing their confidence in fighting against diseases.
Specific operation process: After sitting up, insert the dedicated foot washing stand onto the foot pedal, pour hot water with humidity into the basin, and the patient can wash their feet every day; Remove the pillow and the mattress under the head, place a dedicated washbasin, and insert the water inlet pipe at the bottom of the basin through the design hole on the backboard into the sewage bucket. Turn on the movable hot water nozzle stuck on the head of the bed (the nozzle hose is connected to the water pump outlet inside the hot water bucket, and the water pump plug is connected to the three hole safety socket). The operation is very simple and convenient, and one nursing staff can independently complete the patient’s hair washing.
