Flat from the bottom:
All hospital beds start with a bed frame and a bottom cover, which may be fitted or flat. The edge of a flat bed swoops down once to align with the square head, resulting in a finger forming a 90-degree angle on the right upper corner. The remaining hanging edge swoops down again on the mattress, then turns 90 degrees, with the triangular edge hidden under the mattress to create a mitered corner or hospital corner. Other bedding items are placed in different positions, depending on the type of bed.
Closed bed:
The enclosed bed is cleaned after the patient has been discharged and/or the terminal has been cleaned. It will remain an enclosed bed until the patient arrives. The top sheet and blanket are implemented in the corners of the hospital, leaving only a clear inner lining with triangular edges hanging flush at the foot of the bed. The top edge of the bedding at the head of the bed is folded to reveal the sheet and part of the blanket.
Open beds:
When admitting patients to the hospital, a closed bed is opened, with the foldable head side edge being folded under the bed foot. This type of bed design is referred to as an open bed. It sends a warm and welcoming signal to patients about their hospitalization and treatment, as well as to the hospital staff.
Used bed:
The patient cannot use the hospital bed as his or her own bed. The bedsheets must be changed to provide cleanliness and reduce the risk of infection for the patient. Patients and workers can use minimal stress, with the patient being rolled to one side of the bed while the other side is being made. Then, the patient is rolled up onto the side that has been made, while the other opposite side is being completed. The top bedding is folded according to the patient’s desires.
Vacant bed:
The empty bed resembles both a closed bed and an open bed. When a closed bed is folded three-quarters of the way, towards the foot of the bed, it almost looks like an open bed. The bed is empty, while the patient is either in the shower or sitting up in a chair.
