According to statistics from the General Administration of Customs of China, China exported a total of 3.10 million tons of various fertilizers in March 2026. Among them, exports of urea were 60,000 tons, ammonium sulfate 1.71 million tons, and monoammonium phosphate (MAP) 20,000 tons.
From January to March 2026, China’s cumulative exports of various fertilizers reached 8.16 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 14.1%, with a total export value of 1.76 billion US dollars, up 22.6% year on year.
  • Urea: 480,000 tons, up 7,480.8% year on year
  • Ammonium sulfate: 4.59 million tons, up 13% year on year
  • Diammonium phosphate (DAP): 20,000 tons, down 75.6% year on year
  • Monoammonium phosphate (MAP): 110,000 tons, up 231.7% year on year
Converted by nutrient content, the pure NPK nutrients of urea, ammonium sulfate and ammonium phosphate exported from January to March totaled 1.2635 million tons.

In terms of imports, China imported 1.68 million tons of various fertilizers in March 2026, including 1.52 million tons of potassium chloride and 120,000 tons of NPK compound fertilizer.
From January to March:
  • Potassium chloride imports: 4.58 million tons, up 29.3% year on year
  • NPK compound fertilizer imports: 310,000 tons, up 38.8% year on year
Converted by nutrient content, the pure NPK nutrients of potassium chloride and NPK compound fertilizer imported from January to March totaled 2.8968 million tons.
The implicit pure fertilizer nutrients equivalent imported via major grain and oil agricultural products (cereals, beans and vegetable oils) from January to March reached 1.47 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 9.9%.
